About Roddy Willis

Private Ski Instructor in Verbier

Meet Roddy Willis

Life in the mountains was always the plan, I just had not quite worked out how to make it happen.

After teaching windsurfing for Bladon Lines, I spent a short time working in their London office, but it did not take long to realise that city life was not for me. They offered me a job in Val d’Isère instead, working as a plongeur in the Hotel Fjord for their sister company Ski West.

That first winter changed everything.

From there, I stayed in the Alps and built my life around skiing, working my way through different roles before moving fully into ski instruction. Along the way, I also completed a degree in furniture design, something completely different but equally rewarding, and which gave me a different perspective on how people learn, create, and refine skills over time.

Over the years, I have developed a style of coaching that is straightforward, relaxed, and focused on helping people improve without overcomplicating things. It is about understanding how you move, building confidence in different conditions, and making real progress while still enjoying the day.

Today, I work as a private ski instructor in Verbier, helping clients ski with more confidence, better technique, and a lot more enjoyment, whether that is on piste, exploring off piste terrain, or simply making the most of their time in the mountains.

Ski with Roddy and make real progress with calm, personalised coaching in the Verbier ski area.
