Terms and Conditions
Roddy Willis Ski Instructor Booking Portal
1. Overview
Roddy Willis operates a booking platform that connects clients with independent, highly qualified ski instructors in Verbier.
Roddy Willis acts solely as a booking agent and does not provide instruction, guiding, or coaching services directly.
When making a booking, you are entering into an agreement directly with the instructor assigned to you, not with Roddy Willis as an individual or business entity.
2. Independent Instructors
All instructors operate on a fully independent basis.
Each instructor is solely responsible for:
- Their own professional qualifications and certifications
- Compliance with Swiss law and local regulations
- Holding valid and appropriate insurance cover, including liability insurance
- Delivering the lesson or guiding service
Roddy Willis does not employ instructors and does not accept liability for their actions, omissions, or services provided.
3. Booking and Payment
Bookings are confirmed once payment has been received in full, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Payment is taken in advance to secure your instructor and dates. Availability is limited, particularly during peak periods.
Prices reflect a premium, highly personalised service with experienced instructors who hold the highest level of qualifications and strong local knowledge.
Lesson prices do not include lift passes or equipment hire.
4. Cancellations and Refunds
Client Cancellations
- More than 14 days before the booking: Full refund minus an administrative fee of 10% of the total booking value (maximum 250 CHF)
- 7–14 days before: 50% refund
- Less than 7 days: No refund
Instructor Cancellations
If your instructor is unable to deliver the service due to illness, injury, or unforeseen circumstances:
- A suitable replacement may be offered where possible
- If no replacement is available, a full refund will be issued
Failure to attend a lesson without notice will be treated as a cancellation with no refund.
5. Weather, Conditions, and Lift Operations
Skiing is an outdoor activity and is subject to weather, snow conditions, and lift operations.
Lessons will continue in most conditions unless safety is compromised.
- No refunds are given due to weather, visibility, or snow conditions
- No refunds are given for lift closures beyond the instructor’s control
Your instructor will make professional decisions in your best interest based on conditions on the day.
6. Client Responsibility
Clients are responsible for:
- Ensuring they have appropriate travel and activity insurance
- Being physically fit and capable of participating at the level booked
- Wearing suitable equipment and clothing
- Following the instructor’s safety guidance at all times
- Accurately representing their ability level when booking
Participation in skiing and mountain activities involves inherent risk. Off-piste skiing in particular involves additional risks including avalanche, variable terrain, and changing weather conditions. Participation is at the client’s own risk.
7. Liability
Your contract is directly with the instructor providing your lesson or guiding.
Roddy Willis accepts no liability for:
- Injury, loss, or damage sustained during lessons
- The actions, decisions, or conduct of the instructor
- Any indirect or consequential loss
Any claims, complaints, or disputes must be addressed directly with the instructor responsible for delivering the service.
8. Complaints
If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of your experience, you should raise this directly with your instructor at the time where possible.
Formal complaints should be submitted in writing within 7 days of the lesson. These will be forwarded to the instructor concerned.
Roddy Willis may assist in facilitating communication but has no obligation to mediate or resolve disputes.
9. Equipment and Safety
Clients must ensure that their equipment is appropriate and in good working order.
Helmets are strongly recommended.
For all off-piste lessons, avalanche safety equipment (transceiver, shovel, and probe) is compulsory.
If a client does not have the appropriate equipment, the instructor reserves the right to refuse to conduct off-piste skiing.
Lift passes, equipment rental, and any additional mountain expenses are not included unless explicitly stated.
10. Timing and Attendance
Lessons will finish at the agreed time regardless of late arrival.
11. Force Majeure
Neither the instructor nor Roddy Willis shall be liable for failure to perform due to events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to extreme weather, lift system closures, natural hazards, government restrictions, or travel disruption.
12. Media
From time to time, photos or videos may be taken during lessons. These may be used for promotional purposes unless the client requests otherwise in writing.
13. Privacy
Personal information is used solely for the purpose of arranging your booking and will not be shared with third parties outside of what is necessary to deliver your lesson.
14. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by Swiss law. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Valais, Switzerland.
